Cereal Time


I got to design the logo of Charlie McDonnell’s and Jimmy Hill’s new show called Cereal Time. The show takes a huge influence from Rhett and Link’s format targeted for UK audience. It airs every weekday morning at 7am, UK time.

Letting you in on my thought process of making the logo:

  1. Quick Sketches: Exploring initial concepts, art direction, and typography styles. Keywords: alarm clock, sun, cereal bowl, milk, fun, witty, personal, direct, authentic, retro, friendly.
  2. Initial Studies: Polished versions of some of my favorite concepts from #1.
  3. Approved logo + Color Scheme studies: Charlie and Jimmy both liked the top center study from #2 and asked for a more simplified version of the logo, plus another version with a spoon. I also tried mixing more color variations to add options.
  4. Final Art: First logo from #3 wins!
